I've got both. They are stupid loud and sound sort of like last years V8 F1 cars combined with this years V6 F1 cars.

Is the standard one piercing for you in the rev range after the 5-6-7 changes?

Do you know what the empty can clicking noise is on the fan car when you go from cruising to 0 boost? It sounds like an exhaust valve but I was curious as to what it really is.

Seems like the valve is closed under cruise and then opens when you get 0 boost.

Yes and I still can't get gold on the Goodwood challenge. .012 over. The exhaust hurts my ears.

I gave up on Goodwood a long time ago haha, I can't for the life of me beat it. And it is very painful, they need to fix that.

After I posted this comment I was thinking about GT6 all day, so I went home and tried it again. It took me almost an hour to get it, but I got the red bull fan car challenge on gold by a margin of a whole second! After that, I decided to go backwards, and I got gold on every single goodwood challenge the first time. Once you conquer red bull, you learn the true ins and outs of that course and can do it with anything.

I should go back and try it again then, I think I can get it but surely need more practice. It's not the best time/money in the game though, I think the red bull standard challenge is the best for that. 130k in just about 4.5 minutes is hard to beat!

True. Also, if you haven't, wait till you get the 5 day login bonus, and then go do the Honda s2000 seasonal event. With the 200% bonus and gold you should get close to 1mil if not more IIRC.
